New Work for High School Wind Ensemble
About The Project:
On behalf of myself and Greg Jenner (director of bands at Garner High School in Raleigh, NC), we are excited to annouce the opening of a consortium for a new work for high school wind ensemble. This opportunity will give contributing band programs the experience to work with a composer and participate in the creation of a new piece.
A recent recipient of an American Composers Orchestra EarShot Award, Robert Rankin (1994; Apex, NC) has been hailed as "[one of] the nation's brightest and most talented emerging composers" (Fort Wayne Philharmonic) and has been commissioned and performed by middle school, high school, and college wind ensembles across the United States; most recently Carnage Middle School (Raleigh, NC), Indiana University Concert Band, and SUNY-Fredonia Concert Band.
